Description

Our client is a well-established regional bank seeking a Senior Manager - Credit Risk to join its Risk Management team in Dubai. This role will be responsible for managing credit risk across a diverse wholesale portfolio, supporting robust underwriting, portfolio oversight, and credit governance across the GCC and wider MENAT region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit assessments across a range of wholesale exposures, including large corporates, financial institutions, government-related entities, multinational clients, and institutional counterparties, supporting new facilities, renewals, amendments, and credit reviews.
  • Evaluate borrower financial strength, risk profiles, and credit structures, preparing recommendations and risk assessments for senior approval committees.
  • Monitor portfolio quality through review of early warning indicators, watchlist exposures, covenant compliance, concentration risks, and asset quality trends, ensuring timely identification and escalation of emerging risks.
  • Develop and enhance credit risk frameworks, policies, procedures, and governance standards in line with regulatory expectations and the organisation’s risk appetite.
  • Support risk reporting and strategic initiatives, including portfolio analysis, regulatory requirements, process improvements, and credit risk automation projects.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as CFA or CA are advantageous.
  • 10–12 years’ experience within credit risk, wholesale credit, or credit underwriting functions within a banking environment, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience across GCC or MENAT markets.
  • Strong experience assessing complex credit exposures, including large corporates and institutional counterparties, with proven capability in financial statement analysis, credit structuring, and risk assessment.
  • Good understanding of credit risk frameworks, IFRS 9 / ECL methodologies, portfolio management, internal rating models, and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, credit committees, and cross-functional teams effectively.
