Description
Job Expectations A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Manager – Cyber Incident Response & Partner Management, reporting to the General Manager – Cyber Security Practice where you will join the Cyber Security Practice (CSP) team. A bit about your role This is a pivotal leadership role within nbn’s Cyber Security Practice, responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s digital assets, reputation, and operational continuity in the face of evolving cyber threats. You will set the strategic vision and operational direction for the enterprise-wide cyber incident response function, ensuring nbn is prepared to detect, respond to, and recover from a broad spectrum of cyber security incidents. You will lead a high-performing incident response team, providing expert guidance and decisive leadership during high-pressure situations. This includes overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of incident response plans, playbooks, and technical processes to ensure rapid, coordinated, and compliant responses to incidents. You’ll ensure all incident response activities are executed with rigour, transparency, and in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements. You will also be a key influencer and advisor to executive leadership, providing clear, actionable insights and recommendations on cyber threats, incident trends, and risk mitigation strategies. This role fosters a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and resilience—championing the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure nbn remains at the forefront of cyber defence. You will be accountable for developing and maintaining robust incident response plans, overseeing major incident investigations, and ensuring lessons learned are integrated into ongoing operations. You will also manage external partners to ensure they deliver to agreed service levels, compliance requirements, and support the organisation’s broader cyber security objectives. A bit about you If this sounds like the role for you, it’s likely that you have extensive experience in cyber incident response and crisis management, with a strong track record of leading high-performing teams in complex environments. You bring strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a collaborative leadership style. You’re confident managing external vendors and MSSPs, and you thrive in high-pressure situations where decisive action and clear communication are critical. You’re passionate about innovation and resilience in cyber defence, and you’re committed to continuous improvement and capability uplift. You understand the importance of regulatory compliance and governance, and you’re comfortable engaging with executive stakeholders and external regulators.
