As part of the Technology and Innovation portfolio, Data & Implementation Science is setting the path for innovations in digital health by enabling the good work at University Health Network (UHN), and changing the way we work in response to the nature of a digital world.
The Data & Implementation Science Team supports impactful delivery of solutions benefiting the health system; discovers, validates, designs and delivers opportunities of change and brings contextual awareness through data to ensure successful implementations, value and outcomes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Business Administration or related field is preferred
- A minimum of over 10 years up to and including 15 years practical and related experience and/or on the job training required
- At least 10 years of management/leadership experience in a hospital/health care setting with demonstrated extensive knowledge of healthcare
- Required Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP), Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP), Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) Information Technology Service Management (ITIL)
- Preferred Certification: Program Management Professional (PgMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Lean/Six Sigma
- Supervisory or managerial experience is required

Responsibilities:
- Accountable to establish strong collaborative relationships with various leaders and departments across UHN to facilitate strategic partnerships which includes deep understanding of their key business processes and functions, and the experience and culture of people working at the sites at all levels.
- Serves as a “trusted advisor” and functions as the primary liaison between Data & Implementation Science and assigned UHN site.
- Collates, converges and aligns individual site experience to an enterprise perspective.
- Member of hospital leadership meetings and represents Data & Implementation Science on UHN and Site Committees including Site Executive Committees, Site Quality of Care Committees, hospital operations meetings, Electronic Health Record Clinical Advisory Committee (EHRCAC).
- Stimulates, surfaces and shapes hospital requests for digital products and services and ensures that the potential value from those products and services is captured, optimized and communicated.
- Coaches hospital stakeholders to articulate their needs and requirements.
- Bridges situational awareness by participating in both Digital Huddles and Site Safety Huddles.
- Acts as an advocate for hospital needs and required results.
- Advocates for data-driven decision making.
- Maintains awareness of changes in the site/clinical programs(s) strategy, goals and processes to ensure requirements appropriately reflect stakeholder needs.
- Provides direction to Digital Program, Project, Product and Operations Managers around complex change management to ensure the outcomes of digital initiatives are recognized and meet the expectations of the sites.
- Acts as a 24/7 X 365 escalation point for complex, clinically relevant and safety digital issues between hospital and Digital Operations (excludes vacation).
- Assumes the Incident Management System (IMS) Role of Incident Commander in hospital Code Grey Information Systems response framework.
- Leads all work of the UHN IT Downtime Committee and UHN IT Downtime Working Group, consisting of senior hospital leaders.
- Designs, leads, executes and facilitates the Enterprise Code Grey Information System Tabletop Exercises (bi-annually) and After Action Report with participation of UHN executive leadership, senior site leadership, managers, and frontline staff.
- Accountable for Enterprise Risk Review Process which identifies learnings for process improvements and highlights risks; coordinates debriefs for high impact IT incidents and facilitates reporting to clinical and Digital stakeholders.
- Grants approval for all proposed digital infrastructure and application changes as a critical component of the weekly Digital Change Advisory Board.
- Manages all aspects of human resources including hiring, promoting, disciplining, ongoing coaching and feedback, conducting performance reviews and terminates staff, as required.
