Reporting to the Vice President, Development, the Senior Development Manager will play a key role in leading high-impact projects that align with Choice Properties’ long-term development strategy and activity across its national mixed-use and residential portfolio. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker who can independently lead complex development projects from inception to completion. This includes overseeing various stages of the project such as acquisition, visioning, planning approvals, design, building permitting, overall project management, leasing and sales launch, construction, condominium registration, occupancy, stabilization, and final closeout.
The Senior Development Manager will act as the main point of accountability across all stages of project execution, working closely with cross-functional teams. They will also lead and own project-scale proformas, budgets, schedules, risk management, communication management, and reporting accountabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in real estate development construction, architecture and/or development analytics, with a strong track record of leading full-cycle development projects.
  • Experience in city planning, by-law and permit requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and superb organizational skills with the ability to prioritize various initiatives and projects within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong financial and proforma analysis skills; ability to adapt financial models as projects evolve.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and risk management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and influence key stakeholders, build relationships and work collaboratively at all levels.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adapt to new systems and leading-edge technology.
