Are you an ambitious, creative and visionary senior leader who has a proven track record in improving outcomes, attendance and behaviour of children and young people? Would you like to continue to shape the delivery of our area-based education improvement team here in East Sussex? If you are, then you might be well-placed to join our dynamic and innovative Education Division. The Education Division has overall responsibility for the council’s strategy to improve educational outcomes for children and young people. The Division acts as the champion for all children and young people, especially those who are vulnerable to underachievement, and works in partnership across early years, primary, secondary, special and post 16 education. The Senior Manager role is part of the broader leadership team for education and is responsible for the delivery of our strategy for high quality, inclusive education across the county. The role has substantial managerial and professional responsibility for education professionals within the local authority. This role will have strategic responsibility for Attendance. Reporting to the Strategic Lead for Education Improvement, you will be responsible for leading our core offer to schools around attendance and behaviour across this geographical area. This will include an Attendance Support Team and Inclusion team, for Lewes, Coastal and Wealden, as well as working with school leaders and our external consultants to secure improvements in outcomes. This role requires someone with significant leadership experience, who can inspire others and deliver our vision.
