JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager – Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) provides leadership, in partnership with the HealthCare business leaders and global EHS staff, in both the strategic direction and effective execution of GE HealthCare’s EHS programs and performance within the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business. This role is responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs and policies that reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Additionally, the position leads the environmental sustainability strategy and execution for the PDx segment, supporting GE HealthCare’s broader environmental transformation and commitment to internal and public climate goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSc or BA in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Significant experience leading environmental and safety compliance programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communications skills, including writing and speaking
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and lead teams, drive change and interact cross functionally. Ability to manage multiple diverse priorities effectively
  • Demonstrated experience with EHS regulations and program management globally
  • Ability to communicate using English

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated compliance leadership experience and understanding of global cultures
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30% travel)
  • Pharmaceutical work experience
  • EHS Compliance experience with demonstrated capability of learning requirements and applying this experience internationally
  • Proven managerial/leadership skills with work planning, delegating & evaluating
  • Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization around EHS concepts

  • Working knowledge of Gensuite EHS Management System
  • Experience with EHS aspects of chemical management or product stewardship and/or sustainability
Responsibilities
  • Lead global programs to enhance EHS performance across the PDx business, including the development and execution of the environmental sustainability strategy and risk reduction plans aligned with GE HealthCare’s serious incident prevention priorities and climate commitments.
  • Oversee implementation of EHS programs across the PDx business and global regions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and GE/GEHC policies.
  • Drive accountability and execution of EHS objectives, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks, and support development of corrective action plans and budgets to address deficiencies.
  • Provide expert guidance and compliance support to site EHS managers, including regulatory response and issue resolution.
  • Lead and support EHS compliance audits across manufacturing and service operations; ensure timely execution of corrective actions.
  • Champion EHS integration and change management for business strategies such as new product introductions, product transfers, and site consolidations.
  • Coach and develop EHS professionals across the business; support talent development, succession planning, and retention.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to leverage best practices and internal expertise.
  • Communicate key EHS risks, progress, and developments to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
