DESCRIPTION

The Senior Manager, Financial External Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements and external reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
This role will oversee the consolidation and reporting processes, manage disclosure requirements, and act as a key liaison with the parent company, regulatory bodies, auditors, and other key stakeholders

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Commerce, Operations or Finance
  • CPA designation required

EXPERIENCE

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting standards
  • Proven track record of managing complex financial reporting cycles in large or publicly accountable organizations
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting/consolidation systems (e.g., HFM, OneStream, Workiva, etc.)
  • Manages and optimizes usage of multiple, complex financial systems (SAP and/or SAP S/4Hana), general ledgers and programs
  • Strong accounting and finance knowledge and experience related to standard business operations, accounting standards, statutory reporting and parent company reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding and experience with fixed asset accounting, project accounting, IFRS, ICFR and associated compliance activities, measures and protocols
  • Experience working in a complex organization with a public parent
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting or integrated reporting frameworks
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including detailed note disclosures, in compliance with IFRS
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end external financial reporting process, ensuring alignment with parent company requirements and deadlines
  • Prepare and review reporting packages for submission to the parent, including financial data, analysis, and variance explanations
  • Ensure compliance with all external reporting requirements, including filings with regulatory authorities
  • Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, providing technical guidance and impact assessments to the business
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, tax, treasury, and legal to gather and validate information for reporting disclosures
  • Identify and drive improvements to the financial reporting process, including automation, internal controls, and reporting systems
  • Support quarterly board and audit committee materials related to financial reporting and accounting matters
  • Other general accounting duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Sr. Director Corporate Accounting
  • The Sr. Manager will act as the first point of escalation on multiple projects relating to corporate accounting activities (month-end close, accounting policies, audit, ICFR, IFRS
