We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Finance Business Partnering team in Kitimat, BC, where you’ll play a critical role in supporting the success of our BC Works Operations, which generate over $1B in revenue from the Kitimat aluminum smelter, casthouse, port operations, and the Kemano hydro-power facilities. This role bridges business and finance strategy to drive performance and create value within our Aluminum group.

Reporting to the General Manager Finance Aluminium Atlantic, and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be collaborating closely with the General Manager BC Works Operations as a key member of the senior leadership team:
- Driving the performance, growth, and strategic success of our operations to achieve long-term objectives.
- Guiding the financial performance of the organization through decision analysis, advice, identification of initiatives, and delivery support.
- Leading and developing a diverse and high performing finance team, partnering to drive business performance.
- Developing financial understanding, acumen, and ownership throughout BC Works to embed performance in the business culture and drive a step change in cost discipline and leadership.
- Supporting strong business cases and a strong capital allocation framework.
- Building strong rapport and partnership with a variety of stakeholders including Controllership, Business Analysis, Technical, Integrated Operations, Procurement, Sales & Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Business Improvement; and the Product Group finance team.
- Leading rigorous weekly, monthly and quarterly planning and forecasting processes and supporting improved business performance through ensuring highly effective forward plans.
- Providing detailed financial analysis and advice to influence financial strategy, planning and decision making
- Developing financial communication materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Leveraging technology to provide insightful advice and identify new improvement opportunities, across the business and finance activities
- Ensuring governance and compliance through effective application of financial controls and risk management
- Focusing on value creation across the value chain, embedding Rio Tinto Safe Production Systems
