Mō te tūranga | About the Role In this pivotal role, you’ll help uplift the bank’s return on tangible equity (ROTE) by providing clear, actionable insights that guide smarter portfolio and pricing decisions that drive financial performance. You’ll analyse enterprise wide data, identify performance trends, and work closely with teams across Finance, Treasury, front line businesses, Products and Risk to optimise our portfolio mix and financial outcomes. A key part of your role will involve maintaining our ROTE methodology, managing banking tools and training, and ensuring the data and systems behind our reporting are accurate, reliable and easy to use. You’ll also act as an internal consultant, contributing to strategic projects and providing regular updates to senior leaders and frontline bankers. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys blending financial strategy, data science, and stakeholder engagement to drive real commercial impact. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the development and delivery of portfolio strategies to improve ROTE across the bank. Managing and enhancing the ROTE methodology to ensure accuracy and relevance. Driving the uplift of pricing tools, banker education, and decision making capability. Analysing customer and portfolio performance data to spot trends and recommend improvements. Ensuring data integrity and strong system linkages for effective performance tracking. Collaborating across multiple business areas to deliver aligned and actionable insights. Contributing to strategic and adhoc finance initiatives. Reporting portfolio performance and insights to senior leaders and bankers. Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? A relevant bachelor’s degree. Extensive experience in financial services, ideally within portfolio performance, pricing, or capital-related roles. A strong track record in developing and executing capital or pricing insights. Advanced financial modelling and forecasting capability. Confidence in working with large datasets and producing data driven analysis. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and collaborate across teams. A problem solving mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
