Reporting to the Director, IB Financial Analysis, the Senior Manager, Financial Analysis - Latin America contributes to the overall success of the IB Financial Planning & Analysis ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. They will also ensure that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • MBA is an asset or undergrad in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering
  • 8 or more years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Spanish is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Provide support to countries and coordinate financial activities of quarter-end process, forecasting and planning (Bluebook, Executive Reports, IB plan, EWST, among others) and submissions
  • Review Financial statements and perform high-level reasonability of country/segment results and their submission of deliverables
  • Analyze and identify profit improvement opportunities for countries
  • Analyze and review processes with the countries/segments in order to achieve the goals of performance and provide recommendations to make sure continuous improvement.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
