Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

As the leading high-end men’s wear clothier in Canada, Harry Rosen has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis. This role involves supporting and leading financial reporting and analysis for various business units, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. The role also includes conducting financial and economic analysis, developing actionable reporting frameworks, assisting in strategic planning, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, the position requires managing cash flow, preparing financial statements, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Support and lead financial reporting and analysis for various business units.
  • Lead and assist with month-end journal entries and preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain integrity of the general ledger (GL) by reviewing and analyzing monthly account reconciliations
  • Liaise and support business unit managers throughout the organization.
  • Analyze financials and reports, provide insights and recommendations.
  • Responsible for all financial and management reporting.
  • Design and develop KPI reports.
  • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide proactive analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess business performance.
  • Strategic Decision-Making:
  • Conduct and document moderate financial and economic analysis.
  • Develop, manage, and present an actionable reporting framework, including key success measures and scorecards.
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly management reports capture analysis of financial success against targets.
  • Assist in the development of financial forecasts and related annual budgets.
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Relationship Building:
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and management across the organization.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Assist in strategic planning, modeling, and preparation of management presentations.
  • Budgeting & Expense Management:
  • Complete the annual budgeting process, aligning financial targets with strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain financial models.
  • Perform financial modeling, simulations, sensitivity analysis, and testing.
  • Establish and implement a framework to drive expense management discipline.
  • Ensure the business uses relevant and reliable product/customer/segment cost information.
  • Understand the long-term cost structure of the business and take an active role in cost management.
  • Accounting Processes:
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes.
  • Maintain accuracy of financial reporting and systems
  • Own the balance sheet review process.
  • Support the detailed review and submission of Financial Statements.
  • Partner with external auditors during interim review and year-end audit processes.
  • Support the internal control environment & testing across the organization.
  • Other:
  • Help integrate new processes, revenue streams, and system migrations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to operational methods.
  • HST filing and liaison with CRA.
  • Undertake ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A or related function.
  • Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) required (or in progress).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline. MBA or MAcc is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Experience participating in accounting close process.
  • Experience in Workday, Jesta Financial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills within a Windows environment for all Microsoft Office products.
  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and business acumen.
  • Creative thinking, self-motivation, and strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a structured framework.
