Description
Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager, FM & Treasury Compliance What’s the role? You’ll provide dedicated second line compliance support to Westpac’s Financial Markets and Treasury businesses, acting as a trusted advisor while maintaining clear functional independence. In this hands-on role, you’ll translate complex regulatory obligations into clear, practical guidance, contribute to our compliance operating model, and help the business manage risk with confidence. You’ll monitor the compliance risk and control environment, guide responses to incidents and breach assessments, and support regulatory engagements, reviews and change initiatives. This is a full‑time role, based in Sydney, with hybrid work flexibility after the first few months of learning. You’ll be part of a collaborative and experienced team, partnering closely with stakeholders across Markets, Treasury, Operational Risk, Legal and Business Controls to deliver a mature Three Lines of Defence model and strong outcomes for customers and the bank. What do I need? You’ll bring a sharp, balanced risk mindset and the ability to provide timely, well-considered advice in a dynamic market environment. You'll bring: Practical compliance advisory experience across financial markets and/or treasury activities, with an ability to provide independent challenge and clear, actionable guidance. Strong knowledge of Australia’s regulatory landscape for fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) and related markets activity, and the judgement to prioritise what matters. Sound risk and control expertise, including assessing incidents and potential breaches, evaluating control effectiveness, and advising on remediation and issue closure. Stakeholder leadership and communication, building trust with business partners, and representing compliance in forums and committees. Change and delivery capability, from scanning regulatory developments and industry trends to supporting implementation of compliance frameworks, training and monitoring. Why join us?
