Company Description School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, Nazarbayev University Job Description Senior Manager performs the following duties and responsibilities: 1) coordinates the work with students, professors, and graduates of all academic programs of the School on student affairs together with concerned structural divisions of the University; 2) undertakes the implementation activities on strategic and operational plans of the School within the supervised direction; 3) develops and coordinates the methodologies, rules, and procedures within the supervised direction with the authorized structural divisions of the University; 4) organizes the activities for the orientation, adaptation, and graduation of students together with concerned structural divisions of the University; 5) participates, if necessary, in the process of students’ admission to the School programs together with concerned structural divisions of the University; 6) participates, if necessary, in the organization and implementation of short-term professional programs of the School together with concerned structural divisions of the School and the University; 7) informs the Dean and the Head on the identified cases of violations of the Attendance Policy by students of all academic programs of the School, as well as takes further measures to identify the reasons for non-attendance; 8) coordinates the audit of students’ academic performance and implements measures to identify reasons for the low academic performance; 9) organizes the work with low-performing students of academic programs of the School from the so-called “risk group”, if the reason for the low academic performance is not related to the academic abilities of students and organization of the educational process, followed by monitoring the results and redirecting information to relevant structural divisions of the University; 10) organizes the work with students who are on the leave of absence in order to resume their educational process in a timely manner; 11) organizes the student events, involves the students and graduates in their conduct in order to socialize students; 12) provides technical and methodological assistance to the School employees on the issues within his/her competence; 13) conducts an analysis on the effectiveness of activities carried out and reports to the Dean and the Head, University management, and authorized structural divisions of the University within the supervised direction; 14) participates in the process of forming the budget application and investment plan of the School for the relevant financial year and for the medium term within his/her competence; 15) works with incoming correspondence, requests from the University structural divisions, and timely submits the responses to the letters, citizens' appeals, within the supervised direction; 16) participates in the processes of identification, evaluation, management, and monitoring of risks within the framework of the supervised area; 17) temporarily performs the duties (replaces) of the other Senior Manager and Manager for academic and student affairs during his/her temporary absence (up to one month); 18) timely and properly executes the tasks of the line manager and the University`s management; 19) observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employer`s internal documents; 20) is responsible for exercising the labor and performance discipline; 21) is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as information of restricted access by the legislation, Charter, and internal documents of the Employer; 22) in case of dismissal, is responsible for the timely transfer of all paper documentation, digital information, and inventory to another employee as instructed by the line manager (to be certified by the act of acceptance-transfer). Qualifications Education Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with the English language of instruction. A master’s degree is preferred Priority specializations: - Management; - Economics; - Finance; - Education management; - Public administration; - Business Administration; - Pedagogy; - Linguistics Work experience Five years minimum.
