The Senior Manager Fund Administration & Oversight will provide leadership and support in assessing and implementing strategic plans to manage and improve processes in Fund Administration operations. The Senior Manager will be responsible for planning and managing a wide variety of projects and initiatives to continuously improve operations, maintenance, and implementation of new or existing funds, and support regulatory and bank initiatives in the Caribbean, Central America, and Uruguay Asset Management business lines.

IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU? IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Provide leadership and direction to team members, oversee Fund Administration operations, and lead daily activities to ensure high levels of accuracy of investment data information provided to portfolio managers, traders, management, finance teams, compliance teams, and regulators
• Lead the Fund Administration team ensuring daily, weekly, monthly, and annual deadlines are met
• Monitor and assist in the development of controls to mitigate risks to the team and the Bank
• Provide support in key areas of oversight including reconciliations, fund accounting and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation, transfer agency operations, custody services and fund administration life cycle support
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to establish a control framework in support of Global Asset Management’s compliance of regulatory and industry requirements
• Perform and oversee reviews and signoffs on daily processes and report for different units and regulators across International Wealth Management (IWM) business lines
• Take full ownership of supporting the trade life cycle of various security types supported by International Asset Management
• Work with various internal and external teams in planning projects and initiatives, such as new product launches, mergers, acquisitions, system enhancements and ongoing process improvement initiatives
• Coordinate and review the creation and maintenance of new funds and new fund classes for the IWM footprint as required for Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, and Custody processes
• Act as the primary contact with internal and external business partners & suppliers on matters relating to fund activities
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fund Administration team
• Stay current on trends and changes in international markets and mutual fund industry to ensure policies and procedures are aligned and in accordance with industry and regulatory standards
• Work on the creation and automation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team is meeting all deadlines as per internal & external requirements
• Work closely with the Director and managers through brainstorming sessions to adhere to the objectives set in the KPIs
• Manage and oversee the support activities from external suppliers, including transfer agency, fund accounting and custody services and support issue resolution, troubleshooting and monitor SLA adherence and supplier services
• Present Fund Administration reports and dashboards to board of directors, senior management, and other stakeholders
• Design and support Fund Administration’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and act as the main contact in executing and delivering messages to managers and respective team during BCP situation
• Coach team members to drive efficiency and ensure departmental objectives and goals are achieved
• Set performance goals and expectations, conduct performance appraisals and work on resource planning, including talent management and building pipelines
• Take full ownership in the end of day functions of Fund Administration
• Overtime may be required to ensure requirements with deadlines are met
• Travel may be required through North America or international destinations (up to 2 weeks duration), depending on the business needs

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS THAT WILL ENABLE YOU TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE? – WE’D LOVE TO WORK WITH YOU IF YOU HAVE:

• University degree in Process Management, Accounting, Finance, or another related field
• CPA/CFA designation or active candidacy is an asset
• 5+ years’ management experience in a back office / administration capacity
• Experience in asset management back-office operations
• Experience in the international investment fund industry, especially in the Latin American, Caribbean, and Offshore markets
• Knowledge in mutual fund accounting principles, capital markets and various fund structures is an asset
• Prior experience working with executive committees in investment related areas
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Knowledge of investment management services and systems such as Charles River, State Street, iFast, FundServ, SimCorp and Bloomberg is an asset
• Bilingual Spanish and English language are an asset
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written & verbal
• Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving & decision-making skills
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team of SMEs
• Strong analytical skills and are detail and results oriented
• The ability to balance and prioritize competing or conflicting goals of various departments/stakeholders
• Strong influencing, negotiation and change management skills
