About the job
The Senior Manager, Fundraising plays an integral role in developing and implementing Orygen’s fundraising strategy and initiatives. The role works closely with Orygen’s senior leaders and researchers, as well as the Foundation Board to retain and expand existing philanthropic income, while exploring new fundraising opportunities that support Orygen’s strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Fundraising you will:

  • Lead the delivery of an integrated fundraising strategy across high-net-worth giving, trusts and foundations, community fundraising, corporate partnerships, events, and bequests.
  • Cultivate and grow donor relationships, with a focus on transformational gifts and long-term supporter engagement.
  • Develop high-impact campaigns and events that grow awareness of Orygen’s brand and drive new donor acquisition and revenue.
  • Mentor a high-performing team and foster a philanthropic culture, while collaborating with senior leaders and internal stakeholders to embed fundraising across the organisation.
  • Use data to inform strategy and track performance, ensuring continuous improvement and sustainable growth in fundraising outcomes.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Proven success in strategic fundraising, with experience developing and delivering high-impact campaigns that meet or exceed targets.
  • Exceptional relationship builder, skilled in engaging donors, stakeholders and partners at all levels to drive philanthropic support.
  • Inspiring team leader, with the ability to mentor, motivate and manage a high-performing fundraising team.
  • Data-driven and outcomes-focused, with strong knowledge of CRM systems (e.g. Raiser’s Edge) and best-practice fundraising principles.
  • Strategic, persuasive and adaptable communicator, able to craft compelling narratives and align fundraising with broader organisational goals.
