Job Description Job Objective: The Senior Manager – General Ledger & Asset Accounting will be responsible for managing the complete spectrum of accounting operations, including general ledger management, vendor and employee payments, fixed asset accounting, and compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks. The role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting standards and internal controls. The incumbent will ensure accurate financial reporting, timely statutory payments, and effective coordination with internal departments, auditors, and external stakeholders to achieve the organization’s financial and operational goals. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger & Accounting Operations Manage vendor payments (local and import), employee travel and reimbursement claims, and PE (Permanent Establishment) related disbursements. Forecast fund requirements for payments and ensure sufficient liquidity in coordination with treasury. Supervise payment runs in line with the approved schedule, ensuring timely settlement of vendor and statutory dues. Handle bank confirmations, communicate with Power of Attorneys (POAs), and authorize bank transfers. Ensure foreign supplier payments (MTT / foreign services) are compliant with FEMA and related documentation requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to clarify and resolve payment and service request issues. Ensure all statutory payments (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, etc.) are made within due dates. Oversee and manage General Ledger (GL) accounting, ensuring timely posting, reconciliation, and closure of books Asset Accounting Manage Fixed Asset Register (FAR) including capitalization, transfer, disposal, and depreciation of assets. Ensure compliance with Ind AS / IFRS asset accounting standards and organizational policies. Coordinate periodic physical verification and reconciliation of fixed assets including alignment with user departments for asset tracking, tagging, and impairment reviews. General Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure process integrity and risk mitigation. Support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and explanations. Drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives for efficiency and accuracy. Performance & Reporting Monitor and achieve defined KPIs and SLAs for accounting operations. Generate and analyze financial reports for management review. Collaborate with other finance functions for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Qualifications Desired qualifications Education: CA/CMA/ MBA/ Graduate with relevant experience Experience: 8–15 years of experience in General Ledger, Cash & Bank operations, and Asset Accounting functions, preferably in a multinational or large-scale organization. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred). Understanding of FEMA, GST, TDS, and Companies Act compliance is preferred. Advanced MS Excel and financial reporting skills. Hands-on experience in fixed asset accounting & treasury modules of SAP is preferred.
