Lead global trade compliance for Valiant Integrated Defense Services, responsible for oversight and administration of the Valiant global trade compliance function including applicable export control, sanctions, and customs laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of global trade compliance experience coupled with a background working for or with DoD and intelligence community customers - or equivalent experience.
• Experience with intangible exports, including defense services in support of the US government.
• Experience drafting and submitting export licenses and agreements, interpreting and providing guidance on ITAR and EAR regulations for the licensing of commodities, technologies and defense services.
• Experience with U.S. government systems such as SNAP-R, ACE (AES), DECCS.
• Experience with screening programs and export licensing databases, including OCR EASE Experience in use of ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions for export transactions

• Serve as the company’s Empowered Official, responsible for management and maintenance of export compliance policies and procedures in accordance with applicable trade laws and regulations.
• Assess new business opportunities and determine global trade compliance requirements.
• Draft, submit and manage export authorizations including export licenses, technical assistance agreements, and exemptions/exceptions.
• Provide advice and guidance to senior leadership on complex transactions/applications and the implementation of trade regulations.
• Develop and manage comprehensive internal export controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Investigate and submit, with legal counsel, voluntary disclosures and implement corrective actions.
• Support company activities in mergers and acquisitions.
• Serve as primary interface with regulators to address concerns and shape export control policy.
• Maintains an awareness of changing export control laws and regulations and provides analysis regarding applicability and impact to company products and technologies, as well as existing company export policies and procedures.
• Serve as liaison with various corporate functions on integration and other enterprise-wide transformation activities, ensuring trade compliance equities are accounted for.
• Plan and execute internal audit global trade risk mitigation program.
• Document, approve and review all international shipping to ensure proper compliance.
• Prepare and present global trade compliance training.
• Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job will primarily be in an Office Setting.
• Other duties as assigned.
