The successful candidate will have expertise in complex data analytics and the application of data driven evidence to underpin policy.Health Manager level 5, starting salary from $166,678 - $186,448 plus Super, with a 40-hour work week.What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and manage the planning and delivery of a range of special monitoring and analytical activities. This includes supporting further development and quality of health service information across NSW to enable acceptance and adoption of new initiatives based on sound data and evidence.
  • Collaborate, build relationships and manage consultations, negotiations and partnership arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives across multiple organisations.
  • Document and present information, findings and other artefacts including briefing papers, discussion papers, reports, submissions, related correspondence and responses to standards suitable for informing senior executives that may have competing philosophies, priorities and interests.
  • Provide advice and support that is timely and high-level to the Director and other Senior Executives to inform policy decision making and maintain partnerships across the health sector.
  • Manage staff, contractors and vendors to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard. This includes overseeing coordination of data, people, finances and processes for effective implementation of information projects to support state healthcare system priorities.ABOUT YOU:We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
  • Relevant post graduate degree qualification in Data Science, Data Analytics, Actuarial, Mathematics, and/or Statistics; and extensive experience and record of achievement in managing the development, implementation, evaluation and improvement in the level and quality of health service delivery.
  • Strong program evaluation, health economics and benefit realisation capabilities with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful project outcomes in a highly complex and ever evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including demonstrated experience developing the capability of a team, establishing, monitoring and ensuring achievement of clear performance objectives, coaching and advising staff, and fostering a collegial, professional work environment.
  • Superior conceptual and analytical skills, including demonstrated experience interpreting complex information from numerous sources, preparing analysis and reports, pro-actively identifying issues, and resolving complex problems by formulating pragmatic, innovative and business-focused solutions.
  • Demonstrated superior stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills including extensive experience leading, persuading, motivating and negotiating at senior levels; actively developing strategic partnerships; and engaging and influencing key stakeholders to adopt and implement methodology and initiatives.
