Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join QIC’s Infrastructure team where you will play a key role on the CopperString (East) / Eastern Link project - one of the most significant transmission infrastructure developments in Australia. This role is for an initial 12 month fixed-term contract with potential opportunity to join the next phase of the project and take it to construction over the next 4 years. The Project Eastern Link is the first stage of the CopperString project, delivering a new 330 kV transmission line from Reid River near Townsville to Hughenden. Spanning approximately 350 km, the project will unlock large-scale renewable energy generation in North Queensland, improve system reliability, and support regional economic growth. Once complete, Eastern Link will provide significant hosting capacity for renewable projects and connect communities and industry to the National Electricity Market. The project will be delivered through a QIC-owned Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), which will oversee development, financing, construction, and long-term operations. Powerlink will continue early works and approvals during the transition phase, while the SPV builds lean in-house capability for governance, commercial, and asset management, supported by external technical and delivery partners. Major construction is targeted to commence by 2028, with commissioning expected by 2032, subject to approvals. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the early-stage build-out of a major infrastructure asset, working across investment, commercial, and asset management activities, and contributing to a project of national and regional significance.
