As a Senior Internal Audit Controller, you will work directly on client projects across the retail, FMCG, fashion, and apparel sectors.

You will be responsible for assessing internal controls, identifying operational and financial risks, conducting interviews with key stakeholders, and providing practical recommendations to strengthen processes, compliance, and business performance.

This role is suited to an experienced audit professional who can independently manage assignments, engage confidently with senior client stakeholders, and understand the operational complexities of high-volume, multi-site retail and consumer businesses.

  • Your missionsPlan and deliver internal audit assignments for clients operating across retail, FMCG, fashion, and apparel.
  • Conduct interviews with senior management, process owners, store teams, and operational stakeholders to understand business processes and identify key risks.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls across finance, procurement, inventory, supply chain, sales, store operations, and other key business functions.
  • Review critical retail areas including inventory management, stock movements, shrinkage, cash handling, pricing, promotions, discounts, returns, and store-level controls.
  • Assess procurement, supplier management, logistics, warehousing, and distribution processes.
  • Identify control weaknesses, financial exposure, process inefficiencies, compliance gaps, and potential fraud risks.
  • Perform risk assessments, process walkthroughs, control testing, and data-driven audit analyses.
  • Prepare clear and structured audit reports including findings, risk assessments, root causes, and actionable recommendations.
  • Present audit findings and improvement opportunities to senior client stakeholders.
  • Support clients in strengthening internal control frameworks and improving operational efficiency.
  • Monitor the implementation of agreed corrective actions and remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with Valuement consultants and client teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior consultants where required.


Your profileExpertise: Strong expertise in internal audit, internal controls, risk management, operational audit, and process improvement.Academic background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Audit, or a related discipline.Languages: Full professional fluency in English is required. Arabic is considered a strong advantage.Experience: Between 8 and 10 years of relevant professional experience in internal audit, risk advisory, internal controls, controlling, or consulting.Industry knowledge: Significant experience within at least one of the following sectors is required: retail, FMCG, fashion, or apparel, with strong exposure to complex and multi-site operations.Regional exposure: Experience working within the UAE or GCC market is highly valued.Operational knowledge: Strong understanding of areas such as inventory management, store operations, shrinkage, cash controls, procurement, supply chain, warehousing, logistics, sales, promotions, returns, and financial controls.Client management: Proven ability to conduct senior-level interviews, facilitate discussions, challenge existing processes constructively, and build trusted relationships with client stakeholders.Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP, accounting, audit, or data-analysis systems. Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or retail POS systems would be an advantage.Certifications: CIA, CISA, ACCA, CPA, or another relevant professional qualification would be considered a strong advantage.Soft skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong professional judgment, attention to detail, autonomy, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.You are comfortable operating in a client-facing consulting environment, managing multiple priorities, working with senior stakeholders, and travelling to client locations when required.
