REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

This is an excellent career opportunity for a driven people manager with a passion for, and capability to deliver extraordinary live events at ICC Sydney.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership experience delivering events at both an operational and strategic level, plus the ability to work collaboratively with promoters, artists, internal stakeholders, and key industry personalities.

  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent, preferably degree or in Live Event Management or business-related discipline.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
  • Ability to develop commercial opportunities and ensure profitability is maximised
  • Appropriate experience at a senior management level within an arena, major stadium, convention and entertainment centre or an environment with similar characteristics
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office package and event management systems (i.e. Momentus).
  • Proficient in written and oral communication, being able to produce a high standard of written reports and proven ability to use initiative with ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders. OR Skilled in applying effective communication strategies, tact, and diplomacy to manage, influence, negotiate, and foster long-term relationships.
  • Outstanding customer experience skills
  • Willingness to work in a team or autonomously with minimal direction. Able to accept direction with a can do attitude without compromising safety.
  • Well organised with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically, with an analytical and creative approach to problem solving and creative solutions.
  • Mature and professional outlook in handling challenging situations with a solutions mindset and outcome-driven.
  • Critical and lateral thinking capability with high level report writing experience and analytical capability.
  • Knowledge of legislation and compliance appropriate to the operation of Live Events
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking applications for Senior Manager, Live Events, heading up our Live Events team within our Event Services department.
The Live Events department is responsible for the procurement and operation of live content throughout ICC Sydney, including but not limited to the Aware Super Theatre and the Darling Harbour Theatre.
The Senior Manager, Live Events will report directly to the Director of Event Services. The role will primarily be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the ICC Sydney theatre team and overseeing all operational aspects of allocated events within our theatre venues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead the Live Events team and function across Business Development, Event Planning and Operation, Merchandise and Ticketing.
  • Be a visible and inclusive leader who fosters accountability while providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Contribute to broader ICC Sydney strategic planning to ensure ICCS delivers on its overall business objectives.
  • Lead the Live Events team in delivering operational excellence, ensuring occupancy and profitability is maximised.
  • Deliver safe events of a high standard.
  • Continue to enhance and embed an exceptional safety culture among team members, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Drive improvements and innovation in experiences and services based on customer insights and industry benchmarking.
  • Champion customer journey programs that enhance customer centricity and encourage repeat and new business.
  • Role models exceptional client relationship skills and behaviours when interacting with clients, business partners and team members.
  • Deliver all arrangements related to both concert, and non-concert events held in the ICC Sydney theatre venues, and act as the primary point of escalation for the client.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with promoters, performers, and event organisers.
  • Actively engage in event procurement with the ASM Global Central Bookings and the Live Events Programming Coordinator to maximise the event activity of the three (3) theatres.
  • Focus on growing the variety of experiences available and the delivery of new exciting events across ICC Sydney venues.
  • Assist Business Development with site inspections, client meetings, briefings and input as required on future bookings.
  • Oversee the full merchandising lifecycle for events held at ICC Sydney.
  • Act as the Licensee’s representative onsite for Live Events.
