Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Acumetis is a life sciences consulting firm that partners with biopharmaceutical companies to solve complex strategic, scientific, and commercial challenges across the product lifecycle. Acumetis is seeking a Senior Manager, Medical Affairs to help lead and grow our Medical Affairs service line. This role is ideal for an experienced medical affairs or medical communications professional with deep scientific expertise, strong strategic leadership capabilities, and a passion for building trusted client partnerships and high‑performing teams. Role Overview As a Senior Manager, you will serve as a strategic and scientific leader across key client engagements while contributing to the growth, innovation, and operational excellence of Acumetis’ Medical Affairs offerings. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, own complex engagements end‑to‑end, and act as a trusted advisor to clients across therapeutic areas. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Manager, Medical Affairs, you will: Serve as the strategic and scientific lead on key client accounts, providing oversight, guidance, and thought leadership across therapeutic areas and deliverables Build, mentor, and manage a growing team of medical writers, analysts, and consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence Ensure the highest standards of scientific rigor, editorial quality, accuracy, and relevance across all medical content Lead end‑to‑end delivery of diverse Medical Affairs projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality expectations are met Oversee the development of high‑impact deliverables, including medical education, training materials, scientific platforms, publications, and congress content Contribute to business development through proposal development, client pitches, and expansion of existing client relationships Provide strategic input into service line growth, innovation, and operational effectiveness, identifying opportunities to strengthen and evolve Medical Affairs offerings Stay current on industry trends, emerging evidence, and evolving client needs within the Medical Affairs landscape Act as a trusted advisor by proactively identifying unmet client needs and opportunities to support broader strategic objectives Support internal initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and innovation across Acumetis Qualifications & Experience Education Advanced degree in life sciences required (PhD, PharmD, or MSc) Experience 7+ years of experience in medical affairs, medical communications, scientific affairs, or related roles within pharma, biotech, or consulting environments Prior consulting experience strongly preferred Demonstrated leadership experience, including people management and strategic client ownership Skills & Competencies Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and manage evolving client needs and priorities Strong sense of ownership and accountability for project outcomes and client satisfaction Solid business acumen with a track record of building and growing client relationships Experience managing complex, multi‑stream engagements and collaborating with cross‑functional teams Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with comfort engaging senior stakeholders Collaborative, proactive leadership style grounded in integrity, intellectual curiosity, and strategic vision This position is based out of our Toronto office and requires onsite presence 3x a week. The total Rewards for this position is $135,000- $165,000.
