SENIOR MICROWAVE/RF ENGINEERING MANAGER

Location: Kilgore, TX
We are seeking an experienced Senior Microwave/RF Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and optimizing microwave and RF systems. This role involves oversight of the design and testing of microwave components and systems, ensuring high-quality performance, and driving innovation across multiple projects. You will manage project timelines, resources, and budgets while maintaining close communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Your leadership will foster collaboration and professional growth within the engineering team, while your technical expertise will guide the development of cutting-edge microwave technologies to meet both customer and business requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Citizenship status: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microwave Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years in microwave engineering with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in RF system design, simulation, and test methodologies.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining budgets and schedules.
  • Communication & Documentation: Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts, write reports, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges while staying updated on industry trends (e.g., 5G, IoT, autonomous systems).
  • Continuous Improvement: Developing and implementing best practices for testing, quality assurance, and process efficiency.

SPECIFIC RF/MICROWAVE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to design multi-port/multi-band feeds, mode launchers, diplexers, and orthogonal mode transducers (OMT).
  • Analyzing and optimizing feed port-to-port isolation and RF parameters.
  • Expertise in TE/TM mode analysis, mode coupling troubleshooting, and antenna-feed optics.
  • Knowledge of frequency challenges across S, C, X, Ku, Ka, Q, and V bands for antenna and feed design.
  • Familiarity with methodologies for minimizing passive intermodulation (PIM).
  • Experience with power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, and RF networks.
  • Use of design/simulation tools such as HFSS, TICRA, Mician, or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters).
  • Environmental testing expertise (vibration, shock, thermal, TVAC).

  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and system engineers, as well as sales, marketing, and production teams to drive project success.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure designs meet ITU, FCC, MIL-STD, and other industry regulations.
