EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business, Marketing, Economics or Finance, and minimum 5 years of FMCG industry experience in customer development (managing customers, commercial strategy development, promotion investments and trade spend management) and/or category management
  • Strong understanding of operating environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel), PowerBI, Nielsen
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to Toronto

JOB PURPOSE

Integrating the NRM way of thinking into the Business Unit’s (BU) daily activities is fundamental to create the growth, profit and discipline to give us a competitive edge in the market. This role resides within the Personal Care Canada Business Unit which is a $ 320 Mn CAD business and ranks amongst the top 10 markets globally for Personal Care market globally. Unilever is a market leader in both the categories we operate in, Skin Cleansing and Deodorants. NRM Insights will guide us on Where to Play and How to Win.

Personal Care Unilever focuses on analysis and solutions across 5 levers:

  • Pricing
  • Consumer, Pack, Price Channel, Architecture
  • Active Mix Management
  • Promotional Optimization
  • Trade Spend Translation

Building capability and implementing NRM based solutions is a critical enabler of growth of both top and bottom line in the business. You will lead the continued implementation and embedding of NRM in our Canadian business. Helping people build NRM thinking and doing into their everyday ways of working.
This is a Senior Manager position reporting to the Head of Personal Care in Canada.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Lead BU-specific diagnosis, analysis and recommended actions, through strategic pricing, pack price architecture, mix, promotions and trade terms, to step change revenue and profit delivery
  • Deliver strategic pricing, price and pack and promotions and trade terms development and actions across the categories to deliver incremental growth.
  • Provide support and guidance on smart data analytics and insight generation and recommendation in each of the 5 NRM Levers
  • Ensure NRM initiatives are built into the category/brand/annual plans, and that BU teams understand how to run and own NRM as part of IBP process
  • Integrate NRM performance management with the BU, tracking/measuring performance across categories, understanding how NRM recommendations are performing in the market, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop, rollout and facilitate user adoption of automated tools to support NRM concepts and insight generation
  • Coach, and co-create with trade marketing and sales teams winning customer narratives to ensure execution of strategy
  • Develop and facilitate training programs for NRM fundamentals and automated tools across the organization
