Your New Role This permanent role sits within the Enterprise Compliance function, that is responsible for leading a team to oversight and monitor AustralianSuper’s adherence to obligations. Meeting our obligations underpins the trust that members and stakeholders place in the Fund and is a key element of AustralianSuper’s strategy. In this role, you will be a key member of the Enterprise Compliance team, with leadership responsibility that supports the management of our regulatory obligations as we transform in line with best practice to maintain the trust of members and stakeholders. You’ll provide advice to the Fund's global operations in how to best meet our regulatory obligations and partner closely with First Line teams to uplift compliance frameworks, strengthen controls, and provide oversight of assurance activities that support effective regulatory adherence. To be successful in this role, you will have a deep understanding of trustee obligations, experience in uplifting compliance management, and strong leadership skills. This role is the equivalent of a director in consulting firms. Key duties include but not limited to; Overseeing assurance programs and activities across First Line functions. Identification of improvements to compliance frameworks and processes based on an understanding of industry best practice and evolving regulatory expectations. Ownership of the Fund wide obligations register (Australia and International). Leads the team to operate and make decisions according to the Fund’s Policies, Standards and Procedures and the Fund’s Key Decision Registers and the delegated authorities. Oversees relevant legislative and organisational requirements and maintains oversight of all key changes to relevant regulations. Ensures appropriate and relevant governance structures, policies and processes are followed, and advocate for continuous improvement to these. Leads teams confidently through complex change, creating psychologically safe environments that support experimentation and adaptive thinking. Nurtures and maintain internal relationships across all levels of the Fund to educate on their responsibilities with respect to Obligations Management. What You’ll Need Experience leading compliance, obligations management, or assurance activities in superannuation within financial services, consulting or legal environments. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret evolving regulatory expectations. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence influencing senior leaders. A proactive mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement. Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper. Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
