JOB SUMMARY
Lead, supervise, and train assigned staff, work cooperatively with other departments, maintain and develop existing and new projects, in production, laundry and community based services. Develop and cultivate an efficient and effective organization that promotes employee engagement, innovation, and retention. Ensure activities and operations are carried out in compliance with all regulatory agencies, and with Winona ORC’s mission, vision, goals, and policies.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- STAFF SUPERVISION AND DEVELOPMENT (20%) – Manage the development, growth, and retention of assigned staff. Provide necessary orientation, training, and motivation for staff to meet their goals. Provide performance evaluations and guidance to staff in problem solving. Provide direct feedback to staff on their performance. Set an example for staff in attitude, attendance, and professionalism. Coordinate staff coverage. Empower and engage staff in implementing Winona ORC mission, vision, goals, and strategic plan.
- OVERSIGHT FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT IN PRODUCTION, LAUNDRY AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES DEPARTMENTS: (20%) Oversee the marketing, development and execution of new and existing project, jobs and sites. Prepare bids for jobs following WORC cost guidelines, obtain approval from Executive Director, and submit proposals to customer. Ensure that jobs are set up according to schedule and are running efficiently. Ensure all activities and operations, including client wage determinations and applicable time studies, are carried out in compliance with CARF, DHS, OSHA, DOL, HIPAA and other regulatory and accreditation organizations.
- SALES (20%) – Oversee the marketing, development, and execution of new and existing Laundry, Production and Community Based Services with jobs/sites including prospecting for and contacting potential customers/jobs/sites. Prepare bids for jobs following Winona ORC costing guidelines, obtain approval from Executive Director, and submit proposals to customer.
- MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP (20%) – Serve as a member of the Winona ORC management team. Provide input into agency policies and procedures. Compile and submit data for POP as requested. Serve as a board committee member as directed. Prepare long and short term department strategic plans and budgets. Monitor strategic plans and budget. Make necessary adjustments and mid-course corrections. Hold joint responsibility to maintain the financial viability of Winona ORC. Provide an environment for effective communication, engagement, and cooperation with other departments. Be actively involved in a minimum of one community organization.
- COMMUNICATION (10%) – Communicate effectively with staff, clients, customers, vendors and other stakeholders in both group and individual settings. Communicate in a manner that protects and ensures client confidentiality. Communicate in a manner that advances WORC in a forward direction for staff, customers, vendors and other stakeholders internally and in the community.
- ADMINISTRATION (10%) – Maintain accurate and current records. On time and accurate billing information transferred to the Finance Department. Create and review weekly production schedules with staff. Record and make daily job assignments to staff and clients. Maintain accurate time cards and record productivity at the end of the day. Evaluate performance of workers every six months. Perform special projects and duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Ensure all activities and operations are carried out in compliance with regulatory agencies and with Winona ORC’s mission, vision and goals. Attend and initiate meetings as required.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required
EXPERIENCE:
- Five to Seven years managing personnel and directing a team
- Five to Seven years developing and monitoring a budget
- Five to Seven years sales experience
- Prefer experience working with people with disabilities.
- Computer literate. Proficient in MS Office
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Proficient writing, speaking, and communication skills in English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Able to perform routine math functions
LICENSING OR CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
- CPR and First Aid certification, valid driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance
- Able to pass MN Department of Human Services background study
Able to pass drug screening and criminal background check
