Job Description
We’re looking for an intensely motivated Senior Manager of Product Creation, Apparel based near Denver, CO with an insatiable desire to roll up their sleeves and build remarkable product experiences. With a focus on agile project management, you’ll contribute to important material and product creation decisions to help us grow our impact on the lives of our consumers. You’ll have a direct line to our factories and suppliers, and will nurture important supply chain relationships. This person will report to the Senior Director of Product and work closely with our established Operations, Marketing, and Channel functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of professional experience in apparel or industrial design and development, specifically within the technical, workwear, gear, or outdoor spaces
  • Expert knowledge of garment construction, seams, grading, fit analysis, technical fabrics, trims, decorations, and pattern solutions
  • Expertise building technical data packages, specifying dimensions, creating BOMs, and providing written and verbal technical comments to factories
  • Experience partnering with and managing overseas suppliers, vendors, factories, and resources
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a quarterly basis
  • Innate level of handiness and understanding of our consumer’s work, with an ability to communicate in their language and “talk trades”; capable of jumping in on the job site
  • Proven success in managing design and development projects against timelines to stay on track with seasonal delivery schedules
  • Experience with PLM systems and project management methodologies
  • Ability to analyze trade-offs between aesthetic, performance, and functional attributes of products
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 base + bonus

Responsibilities
  • Proactively immerse yourself with our customers and the environments where our products are used to recognize their day-to-day needs, feel their pain points, and uncover actionable insights to meaningfully solve problems and enhance the product experience
  • Clearly communicate consumer needs and pain points to factories, mills, and suppliers, and support associated development efforts in a hands-on capacity to ensure quality improvements and timely production of apparel, gear, and accessories
  • Embrace and champion a fast-moving, iterative product development culture—pivoting quickly, testing bold ideas, learning from failure, and refining concepts to deliver high-impact, user-driven products
  • Focus on minimum viable products by recognizing the point of diminishing returns in product development
  • Partner with finished goods and material suppliers to develop innovative product and gear capabilities and introduce new material concepts that support product development and business goals
  • Adapt to shifting priorities using 3-week sprint cycles within the seasonal release calendar; maintain timeline management across factories, mills, trims, and development resources
  • Maintain product commercialization reporting and contribute to sourcing plans aligned with development and business objectives
  • Execute, scale, and maintain tech packs to provide clear direction across all stages of development
  • Coordinate fit sessions to drive improvements in fit, comfort, construction, design, and performance, and then relay needs to suppliers, vendors, and factories
  • Manage seasonal color palettes, including new colors and prints, in partnership with internal and external resources
  • Participate in design reviews and support production readiness for graphic and print files
  • Conduct quality assurance through Top of Production video reviews, quarterly bulk case inspections, and inline inspections during supplier visits
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of quality manuals for finished goods and material suppliers
