Job Description
A bit more about this role:
The Senior Operations Performance Improvement Manager, a key member of Devoted’s Implementation and Improvement team, sits within Health Plan Operations and works within and across key operational functions to drive measurable organization-wide scalability and improvement solutions. This work spans Devoted’s new/ existing program years, geographies, products, and teams. He/ she proactively assesses the needs of the business function, effectively influences leadership, and lobbies for resourcing to address predicted, high value improvement, transformation, and/or prevention efforts accordingly. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a high degree of integrity and humility - there is no problem too great or too small and you must be able to roll up your sleeves to dig in. The candidate must demonstrate: the ability to lend structure to ambiguity; an aptitude for problem-solving and change management; and a willingness to build/execute recommended plans and approaches in line with stakeholder priorities.

Your Responsibilities and Impact will include:

  • Drive organization-wide operational excellence and continuous improvement, whether that be specific to the launch of a new plan year or to post launch operational functions.
  • Proactively identify new and emerging organizational improvement areas/needs.
  • Re-evaluate broken, inefficient, non compliant and/or sub optimal processes; propose and influence the adoption of people, process and/or tech improvements.
  • Engage with cross-functional Ops and Tech leadership to understand current processes/systems, assess and prioritize the root cause(s) of discovered pain points, and heavily influence and deliver operational improvement to ensure operational longevity and scalability.
  • Reiterate end-goals and deprioritize scope creep not fully and directly aligned with achieving outcome(s) of interest
  • Assure improvement efforts result in desired, measurable results.
  • Continuously promote data-driven decision-making and actively contribute to organizational development and ongoing optimization.

Required skills and experience:

  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment that requires quick turnaround results. Ability to lend structure to ambiguity with a willingness to lend support to whatever the ask may be.
  • Proven success identifying, executing, and delivering measurable outcomes on process improvement and workflow optimization engagements.
  • Strong understanding of data-driven, business process analysis and improvement, project management, and change management approaches and principles.
  • Ability to cultivate productive working relationships/ influence key decisions with senior leadership and key ops/ tech stakeholder groups across an organization.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to course correction and change.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • 6-8 years of relevant business experience, including at least 8 years of demonstrated experience in a strategic consulting, business process development/re-engineering, and/or tech-enabled business optimization role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Graduate degree in relevant field (e.g. public health, business administration) and/or at least 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated progression of leadership, responsibility, knowledge, and experience.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Health industry and/or start-up experience strongly preferred. Medicare experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with 1+ performance improvement methods strongly preferred

Salary: $104,500 - $155,000 annually
