Lead a team that promotes the safety and resilience of Australia's payments system Contribute to an inclusive and collaborative culture 5-year max-term contract About the team The Payments Policy Department is looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Payments Safety and Resilience team. Payments Policy is responsible for the RBA’s payments system policy, regulatory and oversight functions. We help the RBA meet its objectives of promoting the stability, efficiency and competitiveness of the payments system. The Payments Safety and Resilience team promotes the public interest by overseeing the payments systems Australians rely on. About the role As part of the senior leadership team in Payments Policy Department, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals overseeing account-to-account and card payments systems. You will advise the RBA’s Payments System Board on strategies to strengthen the resilience of the payments system at this time of change and innovation. You will lead the team to focus Australia’s payments systems on managing their risks appropriately. As part of the Payments Policy leadership team, you will join a collaborative team of professionals committed to public service. You will report to the Head of Payments Policy Department and lead a team of around 8 people. About you We are looking for a passionate and experienced leader to join the department leadership team. To be successful and lead with impact in this critical role, you will be: an experienced leader that is able to inspire a high-performing team, develop staff and deliver strategic priorities; strategic with a track record of identifying key issues and developing innovative solutions; effective in managing numerous stakeholders in a complex and dynamic environment; equipped to lead in fast-paced situations drawing on the skills and experience of your team to formulate quick and effective responses; results-focussed with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and progress solutions in a dynamic environment; a leader through change – ready to embrace the RBA’s “open and dynamic” cultural ambition and to lead your team through a time of accelerated innovation; an excellent written and personal communicator with strong presentation skills; a team player who will contribute to a committed and collaborative department; a person of exceptional integrity, keen to contribute to the Australian community; and ideally tertiary qualified and experienced in one or more relevant areas such as economics, financial services, markets, law, regulation and public policy. Please note that you will need to be an Australian Citizen with eligibility to gain at least a Baseline Security clearance for this opportunity.
