Description
The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong. Responsibilities: Responsible for advancing the design development of potential projects, conducting strategic district-based studies, Preliminary Project Feasibility Studies (PPFSs), and technical feasibility studies or assessment identified by the internal taskforce Oversee and take charge of the preparation of relevant consultancies for planning studies, technical assessments and design options under the district-based studies in line with URA's design vision and strategic initiatives For assigned schemes, oversee the preparation of notional designs, including all design presentations and technical assessments, ensuring a professional design presentation and package that satisfies internal and external parties Coordinate and supervise the development of in-house automated/ generative design tools using AI technologies, aimed at facilitating forward-looking and visionary strategic design and planning Maintain close working relationships with all internal URA parties and external stakeholders, such as government departments and bureaus, District Councils (DCs), professional bodies, academics, and NGOs, to solicit public support and understanding of URA's actions and activities Prepare submissions, and, as necessary, make presentation to internal forums and external forums such as DCs, public briefing, workshops, and seminars on URA projects and activities Requirements: University degree holder in Architecture or related discipline Recognized professional qualifications e.g. HKIA, HKIUD, or equivalent Minimum 10 years of post-professional degree experience Strong design background and vision, with good communication and presentation skills (verbal, architectural and graphical). A track record of design awards would be an advantage Experience working with local, mainland, and overseas developers on sizeable commercial, residential, mixed-use, and urban design/ infrastructure planning projects, and/or government departments and agencies in the development field Hands-on experience in design input via Revit, Rhino, Sketchup, and architectural design tools, including AI-generative design tools and architectural parametrics, would be an advantage Closing Date of Application: 5 January 2026 How to Apply? The Senior Manager is responsible for advancing design development of potential projects and overseeing the preparation of relevant consultancies for planning studies and design options.
