The role Lead the design, build and run of Rest’s API and Digital Platforms, ensuring they’re secure, scalable and resilient, and aligned to business objectives and regulatory obligations. You’ll lead two teams (API Platform Engineering and Digital Platforms) and deliver platform capabilities “as a service” so product teams can focus on member-facing outcomes. What you’ll be accountable for Set the strategy and technical direction for API & Digital Platforms, including standards, patterns and governance Lead two platform teams through clear priorities, coaching and performance management Deliver platform services that enable teams to build, deploy and operate digital products safely and efficiently Partner with Product Engineering, Architecture and delivery teams to drive consistent adoption of platform standards and services Own platform quality and lifecycle (coding/testing/documentation standards, versioning, deprecation and operational readiness) Embed DevSecOps (security-by-design, CI/CD and release practices) across the platform SDLC Drive AI-enabled engineering (e.g., assisted development, automated testing and security/ops analytics) with strong governance and compliance Own platform operations: observability, performance, reliability and resilient release/environment management Strengthen platform ownership and vendor governance (RACI, risk and CPS230 obligations) across partners and digital technologies Report to senior stakeholders on platform health, operational excellence and value delivered using clear metrics Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Cloud-specific certifications are highly valuable (AWS Solution Architect, Develop, SysOps, etc.). Required experience, understanding or credentials including: Demonstrated experience of technical people leadership, coaching, goal setting, making sound decisions and delivering outcomes on technical projects In-depth understanding of API design principles, RESTful architecture, Open API specs and API development technologies Experience with API gateway and management tools (AWS API Gateway, etc.) Proficiency in API security best practices, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT) and compliance standards relevant to financial services industry. Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. GitHub preferred.
