MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE: To lead the management of aircraft powerplants and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) across their operational lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, cost-effective maintenance planning, contractual performance, and seamless integration with fleet availability objectives, while driving cross-functional alignment, supplier negotiations, and technical excellence in support of continued airworthiness and long-term asset value. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) oversight for aircraft powerplants to ensure strategic alignment with regulatory frameworks and sustained airworthiness of the operating fleet.
  • Directs the development and execution of engine on-wing strategies and shop visit plans to maximise time on-wing, minimise operational disruption, and reduce lifecycle costs, including lease return exposure for powerplants and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs).
  • Governs powerplant and APU storage strategies to ensure full compliance with airworthiness regulations, operational readiness, and contractual obligations across the fleet lifecycle.
  • Aligns cross-departmental stakeholders with the long-range powerplant and APU shop visit forecast to safeguard aircraft availability and operational continuity.
  • Champions a culture of quality and safety by ensuring all powerplant-related activities are performed to the highest standards and in accordance with internal and external audit expectations.
  • Oversees root cause investigations and corrective actions arising from safety reports, including Air Safety Reports (ASRs), Engineering Safety Reports (ESRs), and Reports of Safety Incidents (ROSI), ensuring lessons learned are embedded.
  • Ensures timely and compliant implementation of all regulatory mandates, including Operational Directives and Airworthiness Directives issued by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), as they pertain to powerplants.
  • Manages high-value contractual agreements for powerplants and APUs, ensuring service delivery, cost control, and performance compliance against commercial terms.
  • Collaborates with commercial, technical, and operational teams to strategically optimise engine and APU utilisation in support of lease redelivery conditions and long-term fleet planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Aircraft Engineering
  • Years with qualifications: 10 - 12 years
