Job Title: senior manager, product Reports to: director, strategy & integrated planning Job Location: Hong Kong Support Center Now Brewing – senior manager, product! #tobeapartner Job Summary This role contributes to the success of Starbucks Asia Pacific by managing portfolio health and developing product pipeline for assigned categories of the Starbucks AP product portfolio. This role manages a team of product managers, providing strategic guidance that unlocks short term and long range category growth. This role works closely with strategy & integrated planning, insights, marketing, product development teams to ensure alignment of vision and priorities. Operating within the center of excellence, this role supports the scaling of AP regional innovations and enables international market execution with agility. Key Responsibilities I) Category Strategy and Architecture • Category Management. Lead development of product category strategies and roadmaps that maximizes regional growth and protects long term brand equity. • Identify Opportunities and Prioritization. Partner with Strategy and Integrated Planning to evaluate competitor and consumer trends to define big bets, build new platforms, and sustain existing platforms. • Brief & Pipeline Management. Create product briefs, positioning frameworks, and platform parameters to ensure alignment with brand strategy and local market relevance. • Product Innovation & Development. Partner with product development and innovation team to drive pipeline execution aligned to strategy. II) Integrate Business Planning & Strategic Operations • Synergize Cross functional Strategy. Collaborate with Strategy and Integrated planning team to synchronize category roadmaps with KPIs, data tools, and reporting needs. • Calendar Orchestration. Maintain 24 month rolling category calendar, lead cross functional teams across marketing, product development, and Supply Chain to ensure launch readiness. • Long Range planning. Anchor 3-5 year innovation planning horizon, collaborating with global and product innovation teams to identify breakthrough and long term opportunities. • Center of Excellence Scaling. Champion best practice sharing and frameworks for international scaling of AP innovations and local market extensions. III) Licensee Market Development & Strategic Alignment • Strategic Licensee Consultation. Maintain collaborative relationships with markets to secure operational alignment to strategy and vision. • Sub Regional Agility Support. Support local market business needs and nuances to capture opportunities with speed and agility. IV) People Development & Team Leadership • Team Capability Building. Manage, coach and develop team of category managers, provide objective performance feedback, guide professional development and foster analytical, trend forward, and collaborative team culture. Required Experience • 8-10 years of progressive experience in product management, brand management, or retail category marketing within a consumer-focused corporate structure • 8-10 years of project leadership in a cross-functional environment and people manager experience • Experience with or exposure to working with multiple countries in the region is a plus Required Skills & Competencies • Ability to navigate, consult, and influence decision making cross functionally within a matrix structure • Proficiency in managing data and consumer insights, capacity to look beyond the spreadsheet. • Passionate of consumer trends and current culture • Builds effective relationships with a collaborative mindset • Language proficiency in English (and other Asian language a plus). • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Strong organizational and proactive problem solving abilities. • Functions effectively with ambiguity. • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
