Reporting to the CTO, the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering will play a critical leadership role in shaping and advancing TrustCommerce’s approach to software quality. This position is both strategic and hands-on, with a focus on driving modern, scalable, and reliable quality engineering practices across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in quality assurance, automation, and Agile delivery models—and will act as both a technical and cultural leader. You’ll guide the team in evolving processes, embedding quality early in the development lifecycle, and expanding automation frameworks to support rapid and secure software delivery.

You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Security, and Compliance teams to raise the bar on quality.

REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of experience leading QA or quality engineering teams, including at least 3 years at the Sr. Manager or Director level
- Proven experience scaling test automation, driving engineering-wide quality improvements, and modernizing legacy QA practices
- Deep understanding of Agile development principles and the role of QA in high-performing, cross-functional teams
- Expertise with industry-standard automation tools and test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, JUnit/TestNG)
- Strong proficiency in test strategy development for APIs, UIs, and performance/load testing
- Demonstrated success in driving quality accountability across engineering teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and coach engineers across levels
- Data-driven mindset with experience setting, tracking, and reporting meaningful quality KPIs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading quality functions in regulated or security-sensitive industries (e.g., FinTech, healthcare, payments)
- Experience integrating quality checks into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and testing in distributed environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Prior involvement in Agile transformations or scaling Agile QA practices in fast-growing organizations
- Strong technical writing skills for test plans, documentation, and onboarding resources

Compensation: Base salary range of $170,000 to $190,000 + Bonus potential
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the SphereCommerce salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role. The base salary is one component of SphereCommerce’s total compensation package for employees.
