The role sits within Enterprise Risk business division which monitors the Rest Investments team compliance with regulatory obligations and accountabilities. Reporting to the Head of Risk (Investments), the candidate will have an important role to monitor regulatory change, implement an automated compliance system and strengthen compliance risk culture by embedding best practice compliance management for investment activities. Provide ongoing regulatory advice that is tailored to the Investment team’s needs across public and private markets (infrastructure, private equity and property through funds, co-investments and direct). Develop and implement processes to support regulatory filings including substantial shareholding disclosures, OTC derivatives reporting and global markets regulation monitoring. Implement regulatory compliance system to automate the full compliance lifecycle: from regulatory identification to policy implementation and control management. Partner with internal stakeholders (Investments, Investment Legal and Regulatory Affairs) to monitor regulatory developments / trends, advise on implications to Rest and play a key advocacy role to achieve balanced regulatory outcomes. Be responsible for the governance and delivery of regulatory change management, including overseeing operational implementation. Provide advice, challenge, and oversight on change initiatives to ensure they are proactively managed and implemented effectively across Investments and Finance and Investment Operations. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, legal or equivalent Key designations (e.g., CFA, CA) are highly desirable but not mandatory. Required experience, understanding or credentials including: This is a leadership role in the Enterprise Risk business division. Experience in investment management or superannuation sector is a must. Demonstrated and proven experience in design and implementation of regulatory change frameworks, and knowledge of investment management and superannuation regulations. Proven track record in working on APRA and ASIC regulations that impact investment management including SPS 530, CPS 230, RG 251, CPS 226 and CPG229. Strategic mindset and be able to effectively communicate across the business to diverse audiences and focused on delivering practical and effective solutions. Experience in managing multiple projects and prioritising competing deadlines. Demonstrated ‘commercial’ approach to regulatory compliance and change. Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with sound oral and written communications skills to influence senior leaders and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities
