As the Safety, Health, Environment, and Sustainability (SHES) Manager, you will be pivotal in driving a robust safety culture within the organisation.
This standalone safety role is integral to the HR and Safety Team, directly reporting to the Vice President - APAC.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading safety initiatives and serving as a Safety Leader, presenting at management meetings.
  • Coaching and mentoring line leaders throughout the business to ensure the effective implementation of safety measures.
  • Managing risk registers, conducting Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations, and liaising with statutory bodies such as EPA/Safework.
  • Proficiently managing risks for a complex organisation focusing on high-risk industries, heavy industry background, and mining services.
  • Overseeing the chemical manufacturing site in Nowra, including logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Managing multiple underground mining sites in NSW and QLD.
  • Providing products and services to crucial mine customers in the mining services and chemical manufacturing sector.

Qualities We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a safety role, showcasing expertise in managing risk and conducting investigations.
  • Comfortable presenting safety initiatives and insights at management meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive safety culture within a business.
  • Experience working in heavy industry and high-risk environments.
  • Effective communication and coaching skills to mentor leaders across the organisation.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems, preferably Enablon.
  • Experience liaising with statutory bodies such as EPA/Safework.

Qualification and Critical Experience:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 8 years of significant experience, preferably in manufacturing/mining, mining services, or heavy industry.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Previous experience with SHES Management Systems, preferably Enablon.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
