POSITION SUMMARY:

More than a fundraising program, Team End ALZ is the premiere athletic program of the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, offering participants the unique and exclusive opportunity to run the iconic Boston Marathon® and the famous Falmouth Road Race®.
Team End ALZ was created for athletes of all abilities to successfully achieve their goal of completing an endurance event while raising funds to support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association. Since Team End ALZ began in 2006, our athletes have raised over $8 million dollars through our proud partnerships with the Boston Marathon Bank of America Charity Program and the Asics Falmouth Road Race Numbers for Nonprofits Program. Our athletes are unified through their training and shared fundraising goal as one team to #ENDALZ.
As the Senior Manager of Team End ALZ you will put your proven networking skills to work cultivating relationships within our community to recruit qualified athletes and volunteers to maximize potential beyond the program requirements and goals. As a successful program manager, you will proactively recruit, coach and support Team End ALZ athletes as they experience a “bucket list” event while achieving high-level fundraising success.
This position plays a key role implementing and achieving the goals of the MA/NH Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association representing over $650,000 in contributed revenue annually and therefore requires a seasoned professional with demonstrated success delivering on financial and participant goals, managing peer-to-peer fundraisers as well as a volunteer committee.
This position is a perfect fit for an innovative, independent go-getter who demonstrates a self-disciplined, proactive attitude and takes the initiative to achieve positive and measurable results.
This position is based out of Newton, MA (hybrid work from home hours available). Must be able to travel throughout the region and chapter. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience in fundraising
  • 5 years related experience with proven success in development, peer-to-peer event fundraising or related activities, including strong volunteer management experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Goal-oriented, positive self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Able to execute a plan with the Volunteer Committee to recruit and retain past participants through implementing best practices and providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to host presentations and comfortable with public speaking
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% within the assigned territory by car. While most travel is same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required. Must have valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs of materials
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office, GoogleSuite, Canva and social media platforms; experience with Luminate/Convio software, GivenGain and Race Roster fundraising platforms strongly desired

Responsibilities
  • Build sustainable community relationships that contribute to achieving event revenue goals and create greater brand awareness
  • Recruit, manage, coach and inspire participants to reach and surpass the required fundraising minimums
  • Coordinate and attend regular Saturday morning team training runs and clinics with our professional coach between December and April
  • Build a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment resulting in long term community and volunteer relationships
  • Manage relationships with the Boston Athletic Association and the Falmouth Road Race, and develop new partnerships for potential Team End ALZ program expansion and growth
  • Collaborate with Communications team to manage and implement marketing and public relations efforts
  • Manage and maintain required third-party fundraising platforms and other relevant online tools and websitesManage Team End ALZ
  • page sharing Association and program content on a regular basis, and facilitate engagement on the private teams’ pages to maximize team building and constituent stewardship
  • Negotiate venue contracts and manage event logistics for wrap around events
  • Serve as a collaborating member of the MA/NH Chapter Development Team representing over $16M in annual revenue to support the mission.
