As The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, You Will


  • Lead strategic sourcing: Set direction and deliver sourcing strategies aligned with the University’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Drive commercial value: Lead end-to-end, high-value procurement to optimise costs, efficiency, supplier performance, innovation and sustainability.
  • Provide strategic leadership: Advise senior and executive stakeholders, influence decisions and align cross-University priorities.
  • Manage risk and governance: Ensure strong procurement governance, compliance, risk management and commercial oversight.
  • Build capability and partnerships: Lead, mentor and develop high-performing procurement teams while building strong strategic supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Drive transformation: Improve procurement capability, processes, systems, technology and reporting to deliver continuous improvement and long-term value.

To Be Successful, You’ll Have


  • Senior procurement expertise: Postgraduate qualifications with extensive experience leading end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing.
  • Complex commercial delivery: Proven success managing high-value, high-risk sourcing activities and delivering measurable value through cost optimisation, risk reduction, innovation and sustainability.
  • Strategic leadership: Strong strategic thinking, decision-making and change leadership, with the ability to operate effectively at executive and senior leadership levels.
  • Stakeholder and team leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate competing priorities and lead high-performing procurement teams.
  • Governance and compliance: Deep knowledge of procurement governance, probity, conflicts of interest, commercial frameworks, legislation and regulatory requirements.
