Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Reporting directly to Head of Regulation, this role will establish a new regulatory capability within the VEC’s political funding, disclosure and registration (FDR) functions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing regulatory strategy across FDR functions.
  • Developing a comprehensive approach to compliance monitoring, including provision of data analysis and insights to drive risk identification and assessment
  • Providing strategic advice and analysis to senior executives.
  • Establishing and overseeing the use of problem-based regulation.
  • Collaborating with the regulatory services area of FDR to implement regulatory priority projects, working towards the VEC’s regulatory objectives.
  • Working with l stakeholders to promote information-sharing and support system improvements.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and risk functions within a complex regulatory setting.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality reporting and insights to inform decision-making at the executive level.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A deep understanding of risk-based regulatory practice, strategy and frameworks, with the ability to oversee projects that enhance regulatory outcomes and support electoral integrity.
