Job Description Manage all aspects of U.S. sales and use tax compliance, including registrations, filings, audits, taxability determinations, and exemption certificate management. Oversee global VAT compliance, including indirect tax reporting, filings, registrations, and process improvements across multiple jurisdictions. Monitor and assess changes in indirect tax laws and regulations, evaluating business impact and implementing necessary compliance measures. Responsible for indirect cash tax forecast of Freshworks US entity and report to tax team and FPA team Responsible for monthly Indirect tax exposure analysis and Journal Entry posting Responsible for indirect tax audits, inquiries, and examinations from tax authorities. Collaborate with Product, Billing, Procurement, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate tax treatment of new products, services, contracts, and business initiatives. Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and compliance service providers. Drive automation and process improvements within tax systems and workflows, including ERP and tax engine integrations. Support merger, acquisition, and international expansion activities by evaluating indirect tax implications and risks. Develop and maintain tax policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Mentor and provide guidance to junior tax team members as applicable. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field; CPA, MST, or equivalent preferred. 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant indirect tax (sales and use tax and VAT) expertise. Strong knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and global VAT principles. Experience in a multinational technology or SaaS company preferred. Experience managing indirect tax audits and working with external advisors. Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and tax automation platforms such as Avalara, Vertex, or similar solutions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a demonstrated ability to influence across functions. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The annual base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $235,000 Base Salary. This role is also eligible for variable compensation. Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Bonus/equity may be available.
