About the role MUFG Retirement Solutions (RS) business is seeking a Senior Manager, Technology Solutions for the Digital Product and Services Platforms within the technology team to provide strategic architecture leadership and solution design expertise across our administration platform landscape. This role is accountable for end‑to‑end solution design within an assigned platform stream, ensuring all technology change and run activity aligns with enterprise architecture, technology strategy, cyber security requirements, and regulatory obligations.  Operating as a senior technical authority, you will partner closely with Platform Services Owners, Change & Run Delivery leaders, and Project Managers to deliver solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, and future‑ready. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping platform evolution, modernisation initiatives, and uplifting engineering and design practices across MUFG Retirement Solutions business.   Key responsibilities Strategic leadership & architecture * Own end‑to‑end solution design for a defined technology platform stream, from discovery through to operational transition * Provide expert guidance on architecture patterns, integration approaches, data flows, API design, and platform constraints * Ensure all initiatives align with enterprise architecture principles, cyber policies, risk controls, and regulatory requirements * Lead the creation of architecture artefacts, solution designs, interface specifications, and supporting documentation * Contribute to platform roadmaps in partnership with Platform Services Owners, identifying modernisation and simplification opportunities * Assess emerging technologies and recommend improvements to platform performance, scalability, security, and resilience * Participate in architecture standards development and architectural governance forums Technology delivery & execution * Provide architectural governance and design assurance across change and run initiatives * Manage design capacity and pipeline to support delivery timelines and priorities * Identify and manage design risks, technical debt, and architectural impacts, escalating where required * Ensure solution designs account for operational resilience, performance, security controls, and maintainability * Facilitate design reviews, technical forums, and architecture checkpoints * Partner with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure solutions are feasible, cost‑effective, and delivery‑aligned * Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues and integration challenges * Ensure all designs incorporate cyber security, data privacy, and regulatory obligations, supporting audits and compliance activities People leadership * Build capability in architecture, technical design, integration, API management, and data modelling * Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and modern engineering practices * Mentor and develop team members, supporting succession planning and cross‑functional capability uplift * Role‑model MUFG Pension and Market Services values and actively contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and high‑performance culture Stakeholder engagement * Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions aligned to strategic priorities * Influence senior stakeholders on architectural trade‑offs, risks, and technology decisions * Evaluate and manage third‑party technology solutions, vendor architectures, and technical proposals. * Act as a key liaison between Technology, Operations, Transformation, and business units for delivery and operational planning * Communicate platform direction, delivery progress, risks, and improvement initiatives clearly and consistently * Ensure user feedback, business strategy, and customer expectations guide platform priorities What you’ll bring Must‑have experience * 10+ years’ experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or complex technical design roles * 5+ years of experience in Superannuation in Australia, Insurance and Investments * Strong understanding of enterprise integration, cloud architectures, APIs, data architectures, application design, and security patterns. * Experience working across large technology portfolios, complex platforms, or regulated environments. * Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into robust, scalable, secure technical solutions. * Strong leadership capability with experience managing technical teams or specialised architecture/design functions. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts. * Proven problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify risks, constraints, and optimal solutions.
