As a key component of the Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation function, the Senior Manager, Total Portfolio Risk will be responsible for developing and maintaining an investment risk modelling framework and ensuring investment risk objectives are appropriately integrated into investment strategy decision making and portfolio construction. Key responsibilities: Provide investment risk related design advice to management's investment decision makers as part of the investment decision making process and by regularly reviewing investment portfolios, asset classes and overlay and implementation strategies to identify potential risks (qualitative and quantitative) Provide advice on the allocation of risk and liquidity budgets in the setting of the Strategic Asset Allocation Evaluate stress testing outputs on market and liquidity risk to inform portfolio construction, positioning and implementation Design and enhance financial and predictive models across the investment division, ensuring that they are appropriately built with consistent inputs and key assumptions Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to support risk analysis, and its identification consistently across our investment strategies Develop forward looking methodologies to capture risks in private market investments Identify emerging risks, macro and mega-trends that may impact the investments, portfolios, and strategy, quantify the potential impact and build potential mitigating measures Provide advice and input into the build and implementation of new risk systems Contribute to the modelling of CMA's and assessment of factor and climate risks across portfolios Qualifications Tertiary qualification in accounting, economics, business or equivalent (desirable) professional certification (eg, CFA or FRM) Required experience, understanding or credentials including: Demonstrated experience in investment risk management in the investment management and/or superannuation industry Thorough understanding of, and experience of developing and implementing and reporting on, investment risk management tools, techniques and best practice methodologies Demonstrated ‘commercial’ approach to investment risk management, including demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior decision makers and portfolio managers Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise competing deadlines Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a high-performing team Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with sound oral and written communications skills Strong technical capabilities in financial modelling and programming in many programming languages (python programming preferred) Additional Information Our benefits have been designed so you can tailor your experience with us and include: Personal and professional development opportunities Hybrid working Purchase leave scheme and gender neutral 16 weeks paid parental leave Super Contribution Continuation for 12 Months of parental leave Linkedin Learning Income Protection Insurance Rest Excellence awards (peer recognition awards based on Rest’s values and behaviours) Rest Stops - meeting free breaks If you share our values, believe you can help make a difference for our members and want to be part of a leading superannuation fund with a Super culture, please click Apply Now. Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Total Portfolio Risk will develop and maintain an investment risk modelling framework to integrate risk objectives into investment strategy and portfolio construction. They will provide expert advice on risk and liquidity budgets, evaluate stress testing outputs, and collaborate with portfolio managers to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
