We're hiring a Senior Manager to lead governance and oversight of Westpac’s transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting (TM&RR) processes, critical to preventing financial crime. Sitting within the first line of defence, you’ll join our Financial Crime Surveillance team to make sure AML, KYC and sanctions controls are not just compliant, but work across the business. You’ll take ownership of policy, process and data analytics to ensure TM&RR is consistent, effective and continuously improving. This role is central to safeguarding against financial crime through smarter systems, sharper oversight and deeper collaboration across risk, compliance, and legal. What do I need? Substantial experience in financial crime monitoring or investigations, with strong know-how in AML, KYC, or CDD frameworks. Governance leadership experience, especially across risk, policy, or compliance teams in complex organisations. Ability to assess and uplift processes, with a focus on quality, analytics, and measurable outcomes. Comfort with regulatory detail, including reporting rules and external stakeholder engagement. Clear communication skills - able to explain complex issues to regulators, senior leaders, and frontline staff. A mindset for continuous improvement, with ideas on how to automate, simplify, or reimagine how things get done. Why join us?
