Description
About the Role In this position, you will oversee global passenger and cargo ULD operations, including activities at the Doha hub. Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of ULD balancing, operational processes, quality standards, compliance, and maintenance of related manuals. You will plan and develop the infrastructure required to support improved ULD management in line with projected tonnage, station needs, and product growth. You will also design strategies to enhance ULD messaging to ensure accurate data collection for effective inventory monitoring and forecasting. In addition, you will create and roll out new field procedures for Ground Handlers covering all areas of ULD handling, ensuring alignment with IATA standards and incorporation into the QR Cargo manual and service level agreements. Key operational duties would include: Develop and implement ULD strategies and standards in full alignment with IATA and company requirements, establishing QR Cargo as an industry benchmark. Create ULD performance metrics using research and operational insights to continuously assess and enhance service delivery against defined targets. Formulate short‑term departmental strategies, including cost‑optimization plans to reduce leasing, repair, and ULD repositioning expenses. Identify, evaluate, and deploy new ULD technologies—such as Bluetooth/RFID—and forecasting tools to enhance inventory accuracy and support network and fleet growth. Improve operational processes with the Team, leading plan–control–review cycles to optimize resource utilization, pooling efficiency, and cost control. Oversee ULD operational performance for hub and outstations across both passenger and cargo operations. Maintain and monitor global ULD inventory balance, ensuring network readiness and operational continuity. Develop and enforce SOPs, SLAs, and procedural guidelines for GHAs and cargo staff, ensuring smooth inventory balancing and closure of customer action items. Establish performance measurement frameworks, manage stakeholder KPIs, and drive corrective action on issues such as damaged, lost, or unreported ULDs. Plan and implement future ULD operational improvements, manage network risk during shortages, oversee special‑product ULD procurement, and guide senior management on utilization and cost reduction.
