ABOUT BARTON ENGINEERING Barton Engineering FZE is a manufacturer and distributor of the premium quality Barton brand of cable management of electrical lighting, power, and data industrial wiring installations. The range includes rigid and flexible conduit, conduit accessories and fittings, electrical enclosures, and switch boxes – manufactured in accordance with British (BSEN) and US (UL) specifications. Barton also sells a similar conduit range under the Longmore brand and the electrical ranges are complimented by a range of mechanical tube and pipe fittings for water, air, and steam systems. The Barton brand can trace its roots back over 130 years, and today remains the market leader in premium quality cable management. Barton has supplied the Middle East for more than 40 years and has been physically present for 20 years. The main regional Barton service centre is located within Jebel Ali Free Zone, and a Saudi subsidiary was opened in 2023. POSITION SUMMARY • This is an exciting opportunity for a self-driven, goal oriented, experienced Warehouse & Materials Manager with a proven track record of: • Managing a modern warehouse • Material management • Managing and optimising international supply chains • Material/supply planning and purchasing • Operational excellence • Site leadership • You will possess a proven ability in purchase planning, management of in-coming goods (from supplier), and out-going goods (to customer), inventory management and health & safety in fast moving environment. • Using your first-hand experience of building teams, you will take responsibility for managing the working and maintenance of the Jebel Ali site and use your own initiative to help deliver the objectives of the business. • The role is based in Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE, and you will report to the Managing Director (with dotted line to Chief Operations Officer) of Barton Engineering. • You have a very good command of spoken and written English. • You are a strategic thinker, a team leader, you can extract the best performance within the operation and encourage and guide others to do the same. • Barton and the wider GFG Alliance offers you a pathway to develop your career to the maximum potential of your capabilities and aspirations. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • You will initially manage a small and motivated team based in Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE, which includes material planning, purchasing, quality, incoming and outgoing logistics and all functions of the warehouse. • You are responsible for the maintenance and regulatory conformity of the Barton Engineering site and infrastructure in Jebel Ali Free Zone. • Barton products are sold through established multi-distribution channels to MEP contractors and end users, and your role will ensure Operations can meet and exceed customer needs in terms of on-time delivery, product demand and product quality targets. • Under the guidance of the MD and COO, you will assume responsibility for health and safety, purchase planning, goods-in and out logistics, and quality control. • You will provide an input into demand forecasts set in conjunction with the sales department. • All transactions will be recorded on the companies ERP and CRM systems, you will maintain a high standard of department record keeping and report weekly and monthly performance against metrics. • You will work with honesty, transparency, integrity and within GFG and Barton compliance requirements. You will ensure all your team does the same.

Requirements

• At least Bachelor level engineering or business degree. • At least 10 years of experience in managing and optimising distribution-based businesses in a similar sector using your own initiatives. • Excellent ERP, CRM, WMS, MS office and data analytics skills. • Candidate must hold a valid UAE driving license. • Willingness to travel to client and stakeholder meetings throughout the MENA region. • Excellent people skills, with experience of dealing with internal staff, customers, and suppliers.
