The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support T-7 in Berkeley, MO.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 14+ years of experience related to manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and government officials
  • Willing to travel on average 25% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

  • ME experience preferred but IE experience is ok.
  • An ABET accredited science degree
  • Experience working with suppliers
  • Experience with program level milestones including the MRA process

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 6: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

SUMMARY PAY RANGE:

Level 5: $133,450 - $180,550
Level 6: $163,200 - $220,800

Responsibilities
  • Work to improve key supplier quality and on-time delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).
  • Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, material, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • Works to assess supplier’s knowledge of design, test, software, technology, avionics.
  • Working with key suppliers in assessing Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL).
  • Complete Program MRL requirements
  • Work with the USG in making recommendations for MRL levels at key suppliers.
  • Work with key suppliers to create manufacturing maturation plans (MMP) for MRL risks.
  • Work with Design, Build, Integration team on key supplier APQP.
