JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer oversees the development and maintenance of all company manufacturing processes and procedures. Specific areas of focus include working with operations, quality, design engineering, and sales to achieve continuous product and process improvements and supporting systems administration and information management efforts company-wide.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production processes and concepts
  • The ability to perform a multi-task job and adjust priorities as appropriate
  • Possess excellent time management skills. Be able to take the initiative to meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • Action and detail oriented, having a drive for success
  • The ability to interact effectively with a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years manufacturing engineering experience
Computer Skills: Office Suite, 2D & 3D CAD, CAM, and ERP Systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing to wear all required PPE, including respirator masks and hood
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. infrequently
Must be able to work standing for extended periods
Able to work in a loud production environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Writes and maintains manufacturing Bills of Material/Routing and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Determines and adjusts run rates on Bills of Material/Routing for accuracy, with input from the production, planning and finance teams
  • Troubleshoots production line issues related to yield, quality, and throughput
  • Designs and implements process support equipment and tooling
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvements to manufacturing processes and workflows to maximize productivity and quality
  • Leads identification, purchase, installation, qualification and handoff to production of new equipment and tools
  • Coordinates with sales, design engineering, and quality departments to ensure that the engineering drawings and specifications accurately define all manufacturing and quality requirements to produce a product that meets customer design requirements
  • Provides design for manufacturing (DFM) feedback and run rate estimates to Sales/Design Engineering as needed
  • Complete manufacturing engineering/quality documentation such as engineering change notices (ECNs), nonconformances (NCs), corrective action reports (CARs), process failure mode and effects analyses (PFMEAs), control plans (CPs), gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies, value stream maps (VSMs), tool & gage plans, and others as required
  • Support design engineering in writing qualification, test, and acceptance plans as required
