Overview As a Technical Category Manager (TCM) in Microsoft Devices Global Manufacturing Operation organization, you will play a pivotal role in managing supplier operations, driving manufacturing excellence, and ensuring quality compliance for multiple component categories. This role blends strategic sourcing, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality leadership, and program management to deliver best in class operations from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Mass Production (MP). Responsibilities Category & Supplier Leadership Develop and execute category strategies, supplier segmentation plans, and performance scorecards. Ensure suppliers meet Continuity of Supply (COS) and Clear‑to‑Build (CTB) readiness across all stages. Drive localization and manufacturing readiness throughout NPI and MP phases. Manufacturing Excellence Lead process optimization, automation initiatives, and Industry 4.0 capability development. Support NPI builds, production line qualification, and long‑term technical roadmaps. Resolve factory issues and deploy sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Quality & Compliance Champion a zero‑defect culture using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving methodologies. Conduct audits, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with APQP, FMEA, and Microsoft quality standards. Uphold security, sustainability, and regulatory compliance requirements. Supplier Development & Innovation Strengthen supplier capabilities through structured gap‑closure and readiness programs, particularly within Vietnam’s ecosystem. Benchmark and adapt proven practices from China to suit local factory and supply‑base maturity. Promote automation, digital transformation, and AI‑driven quality improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, and Tier‑1/Tier‑2 partners for seamless execution. Participate in design and technical reviews to influence manufacturability and cost‑quality‑delivery outcomes. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Senior Factory Management Engineer Manager, Factory Management Engineering Master's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in a manufacturing environment /repair OR Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment/repair OR 7+ years of equivalent experience. Excellent communication, data‑driven decision‑making, and stakeholder‑influence skills. Demonstrated project management and structured problem‑solving capability. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing, supplier management, or related fields. Solid technical background in factory operations, NPI, and quality management systems. Lean/Six Sigma certification. Experience with AI‑enabled quality systems, digital manufacturing, and automation. Familiarity with Vietnam’s supplier ecosystem and localization strategies. Knowledge of ISO 9001, audit methodologies, and compliance frameworks.
