We have an immediate opening for the following position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for managing all activities within manufacturing engineering and manufacturing support departments. This role will work closely with production and is accountable for process efficiency and continuous improvement by being an expert on equipment technology, manufacturing methods and production standards. This position will also support maintenance and facilities as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Manage manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering resources Identify and implement cost savings Support corporate safety initiatives Implements and lead accurate BOM creation and routing structures Leads the organization’s implementation of lean manufacturing principles Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, material and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly, methods and quality control standards Create tooling, fixtures and jigs to support manufacturing throughput Conducts studies to ascertain the best sequence of operations and work flow Plans and implements material utilization ideas/processes Support maintenance and facility requirements as needed Assist in the arrangement of machines, assembly areas and/or racking within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout Assist in the planning and implementation of layouts of moderately complex equipment, warehouse space, office areas and production facilities Assist in capital project planning for equipment, process improvements and facilities Other duties as assigned by the company Qualifications MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS Well prepared, organized and detail-oriented Deep understanding of math, physics and computer skills Goal oriented, results driven with an orientation for action Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, problem solving and continuous improvement Flexible and resilient in organizing work within a changing priority environment Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven leadership ability PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Macola ERP System, Tape Measure, Calipers, Micrometer EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ years in manufacturing related field; supervisory experience required
