Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Operations Analyst (Level 4 or 5) to support the Space Launch System (SLS) Operations Tooling team in New Orleans, LA!
The Senior Manufacturing Operations Analyst will analyze and interpret data by monitoring analytics supporting tool operations and contract tooling for the SLS program. Common analytics tools will include the Enterprise Tooling Visibility System (ETVS), Shipside Action Tracker (SAT), Action Request log (AR), Integrated Plans (IP), and other systems within tool operations. This position will lead Lean initiatives to improve the tooling value stream.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience in Tooling operations
  • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing process improvement projects
  • 3+ years of experience in performing data analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • 3+ years of experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that involves strategic planning and risk identification
  • 3+ years of experience in managing projects
Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (LEVEL 4):

  • Work gun builds and optimized settings for acreage foam sprays in cells G and N, improving spray consistency and throughput
  • Work gun build and robot programs for dome spray operations, reducing manual adjustments and cycle time
  • Calibrate and upgrade PNDS hand-spray systems as needed; sourced and qualified replacements for obsolete components to restore full functionality
  • Troubleshooting manual and automatic primer systems in cell P to resolve identified performance issues and improve reliability
  • Working cell P automatic system to meet CAT 1 explosion-proof requirements after initial installation failed compliance testing
  • Diagnose and repair pump and pressure system failures in cell M delivery system to restore production flow
  • Repair and calibrate plug-puller equipment used for material testing, ensuring test accuracy and repeatability
  • Assist with implementation of upgrades to aging Kaman units where legacy parts are no longer available; maintained limited operational units during transition
  • Replace damaged regulators on cell N robot systems to resume automated spray operations.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting at KSC to identify causes of system failures preventing respray of Artemis 3 tunnel covers, supporting mission schedule recovery
